I have worked for six years as a software and DevOps engineer at OTTO Group IT, where I designed and developed multiple cloud-native applications and contributed to the company's internal AI chat platform. In recent years, I have increasingly engaged in various open-source and freelance projects, particularly within the Nextcloud ecosystem, where I maintain several popular open-source projects.
I am fluent in both English and German, with German being my mother tongue.
If you believe I could be a good fit for your project, I invite you to to send me an email.
I am particularly interested in projects that drive positive change and make a meaningful impact in our communities, such as those that foster civil rights, democratic participation, diversity, accessibility, and education. If your project aligns with these values, I would love to discuss it further!
I've been building software with lots of programming languages, frameworks and tools and I'm always excited about learning new technology.
I believe in finding the right tool for the job, but of course there are some languages that I particularly enjoy working with, like Rust, go or Kotlin.
Infrastructure as Code, integration tests and strong monitoring/alerting: Automation paves the way to fearless and disruption free releases.
In my time at OTTO group IT (later one.o) I have often supported teams as CI/CD expert (apart from building automation for my own products).
From serverless cloud applications, over kubernetes clusters to traditional services on plain linux servers, I have many years of experience in running services in a cost and maintenance efficient way.
I see it this way: The less time I require to keep existing services running, the more time I can spend on writing new software. :)
Nextcloud Atomic is an easy-to-use, batteries-included system for running Nextcloud, that's optimized for robustness and security.
It features a custom admin interface written in Rust and Dioxus which provides everything needed for administration tasks while maintaining a minimal attack surface thanks to the kernel's sandboxing and isolation features as well as the excellent systemd stack (used for service management, updates, trusted boot, etc.).
